Classes & Workshops
For more than 40 years, the Cultural Arts Center has offered a wide variety of in-depth, hands-on art classes to all interested adults (18 years and older) from beginner to advanced. We also host concentrated summer workshops and special workshops in connection with our exhibitions.
Class and workshop registration is handled through the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department’s registration site. If you do not have an account, you will need to sign up for one before registering for any classes or workshops.
Cultural Arts Center classes are taught by skilled and experienced instructors, and our studios are well equipped to accommodate all skill and interest levels. All this, plus the camaraderie and mentoring from fellow classmates while working side by side, is key to the unique appeal of our classes.More About Our Instructors
From ceramics and sculpture to metalsmithing and painting, you will always find the offering you are looking for at the highest quality. Our studio classes are offered in 7-8 week sessions with classes that meet once weekly for three hours.
For individuals who want to learn more about art and culture but cannot commit to a seven- or eight-week course, we offer a series of summer workshops, most of which consist of a week of full-day instruction and participation.
Our Studio Space
With facilities to practice a huge number of artistic media, the Cultural Arts Center’s studio spaces are second to none. From kilns for firing ceramics to looms for weaving, our nine studios are well equipped with materials to ensure our students have access to a complete set of resources.
Our Art Shop
Created, the Art Shop at the Cultural Arts Center, sells work in a variety of artistic media by our classes’ instructors and students. New items are added on a continuing basis.
