Mary Skrenta teaches multiple levels of jewelry at the Cultural Arts Center, is the Jewelry/Metals Studio Manager, and teaches various disciplines & levels at Columbus College of Art & Design, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in 2016. She is a multi-media artist currently exploring a combination of experimental and traditional media in work that references the body and questions contemporary notions of value. Mary exhibits her award-winning art across the United States, is a 2017 recipient of The Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award and the 2018-19 CCAD Teaching Excellence Award. Mary fuses her enthusiasm for life and passion for art in a teaching style that incorporates compassion and encouragement without sacrificing high standards of craft. She is pleased to introduce her students to the joy of making and feels privileged to be a guide on their creative journey. She is the dedicated mother of two teenagers and enjoys music, travel, nature, and mindfulness.
