Take the intimidation factor out of oil painting! Whether you’re a first-time painter or an experienced artist looking to try something new, this workshop has something for you! Learn all about this luscious, versatile medium, and energize your art making practice with a focus on the fundamentals of loose, realistic painting. Get a new perspective on the still life, and learn tips for bringing inspiration to your home studio practice. We will cover the basics of value and composition design, and do quick, fun exercises to focus on loose, energetic brushwork before creating a finished piece. Sarah will demonstrate, and work with each student individually. Painters of all levels are welcome. Instruction is in oils.

Sarah Sedwick is an oil painter whose still lifes celebrate the beauty of the everyday, inspired by color combinations and perceptual effects. All are painted from life. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Sarah has lived in Eugene, Oregon since 2007. In 2001, she earned a BFA in Illustration from The Maryland Institute, College of Art. She teaches workshops on her painting technique, both at home in Oregon and around the country. She also has an Online Art Mentorship program, working intensively with students all over the world.
