Ohio Inspiration
featuring artist Gale Suver
SEPTEMBER 4 - 30, 2018
Artist Reception: Friday, September 28 | 6-9 PM

"As I have worked to develop my personal art path, I started with acrylics and brush on canvas but in the past year I have found such joy and freedom utilizing oils and palette knife on canvas.

This medium, with its “butter like” consistency, creating depth and texture, allows for amazing expression as oil paint is moved and manipulated by the knife.

I find I have great  interest in the beauty of so many things I experience every day, it is fascinating to try and capture the charm or the story of the sometimes forgotten structures, machinery, buildings and terrain, the materials used, the purpose and people they served, in a time gone by.  This current series of paintings I have produced, “Ohio Inspiration,” strives to capture these characteristics from the cities, towns and backroads of my home state that I love!

Thank you so much for taking the time to explore my world that I attempt to capture though my art!"

Born in Columbus, Ohio where art has always been a very important part of my life, I had a wonderful childhood growing up here with my parents, Brother and Sister.  I attended Northland High School where my interest in art was nurtured and married my high school sweetheart shortly after graduation.

We were blessed with 4 beautiful daughters and our wonderful family has now grown to include 4 son in laws and 7 amazing grandchildren who all live in the greater Columbus area.

While art has always occupied a corner of my life, when I retired 4 years ago I was excited to focus on working to further develop my self taught skills, first through online classes and then becoming involved with the Cultural Arts Center.

Thank you for joining me on my journey!
