Weddings in an Artistic Venue

Reserve our beautiful garden courtyard and/or our indoor gallery space for your intimate summer wedding ceremony and reception. By selecting your own planner, caterer and set-up choices, you have the freedom to custom design your special day to fit your dreams.

Making a Reservation

The information below will answer many of your questions about renting one or both of our spaces for a wedding reception or ceremony. Stop by during our hours of operation to see for yourself. Better yet, schedule a private tour and get your questions answered by contacting Jackie Barr, rental coordinator, at 614-636-3ART(278) or cacrentalcoordinator@gmail.com. We offer tours by appointment weekdays between 5 and 7 p.m.

Capacity

The activities you plan and the seating arrangement you select will determine the total number of people that can be accommodated. We suggest you work with your caterer/wedding planner to design a layout to ensure your needs are met.

Suggested maximum Courtyard capacity

  • Seated at tables: 120
  • Seated at chairs: 160
  • Standing only: 200

Suggested maximum Main Gallery capacity

  • Seated at tables: 150
  • Seated at chairs: 200
  • Standing only: 250

Availability

The Main Gallery and Courtyard are available for weddings from mid-April through mid-October on Saturdays only.

 

Rental Contract

All parties must read and sign the detailed CAC Rental Contract before any reservation is finalized. One-half of the rental fee is due upon contract initiation, with the remaining balance and your complete event plan due 30 days prior to the event. Cancellation charges apply.

Food

If you are planning to serve food, you must use a licensed and insured caterer. The CAC must receive a copy of caterer’s insurance with a waiver to hold CAC harmless. Any caterer outside of those on our approved list must be approved by CAC administration. Please note that if you plan to serve alcohol, the drinks must be served by someone on the staff of the licensed and insured catering company.

Columbus Recreation and Parks maintains a running list of contractors who are pre-approved to serve beverages at city facilities, including the Cultural Arts Center. See below for the current list.

Amenities & Equipment

Amenities include a grand piano, TV to scroll images, four 8′ utility tables, three easels, a PA system (announcements only), and one changing room.

Equipment you must obtain guest tables and chairs from an outside vendor. You may rent tent(s) for the Courtyard from an outside vendor or through your caterer.

CAC Chair Rentals: We have 150 modern black plastic chairs available for rent.

Setup & Teardown

Your caterer will handle the setup and teardown of your event. Setup and teardown time must be included in your contracted rental time.

Wedding Rental Pricing

Prices are for 6-hour blocks of time. You can buy up to 3 additional hours for $100 each. The CAC closes at 11 p.m.

  • Gallery Only: $1,150
  • Courtyard Only: $1,150
  • Gallery and Courtyard: $1,750

Holiday Weekend Special Rental Pricing

Our special holiday weekends for 2020 are May 23 and September 5.

  • Gallery Only: $1,400
  • Courtyard Only: $1,400
  • Gallery and Courtyard: $2,100
